News & Updates:
7/22/2024 - Campus Updates:
At our June ILTexas Board Meeting, our Board approved a scaled down version of our High School to be built at 3700 Longmire Avenue. Instead of the 900-capacity school that we'd previously planned to build, we're going to build a 600-capacity high school that has the potential to grow into the 900-student building.
We're going to start breaking ground around October of 2024 in order to open it up for students in January 2026. Meanwhile, we have agreed to terms with the City of College Station to extend the lease at the current Aggieland HS building to mid-2026 to ensure that our students have a home until the new school is built. Additionally, we installed a portable building at 2611 Texas Avenue with two small classrooms that will help with classroom sizes for the 24-25 school year.
Finally, we are very happy to announce the opening of the Aggieland HS MCJROTC program which will be housed in three portable school buildings at the ILTexas College Station K-8 site.
1/23/2024 - Campus Updates:
- Portables - We have one portable still awaiting approval that we expect to be able to install in mid-March on the Aggieland property in the parking lot.
- MCJROTC - We have signed a lease near the school at 2501 Texas Ave, College Station, TX 77840 for the Aggieland MCJROTC program because the two portables near our property were denied by the city.
8/1/2023 - Lease Renewal - On July 13th, 2023 the College Station City Council unanimously approved the renewal of the lease to the current building to extend its usage through the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
7/18/2023 - Portables - Due to some supply chain issues, the manufacturer notified us the two-classroom portable anticipated for August 1st will not be ready until later in the semester. We were able to problem solve and get a portable space for one additional classroom to be placed in the driveline area for the start of school. Miss Birdwell was also able to adjust the master schedule to accommodate for the delayed classroom. We will continue to keep you posted as we hear updates from the manufacturer. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to administration.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the budget for the new building?
Building the new school will cost ILTexas approximately $45 million, including land.
Could a hold on the charters other new K-8 buildings push back the opening of Aggieland High School?
All of the K8s currently under construction now with one to be operational August 2023. The others are under construction to be operational August 2024.
What is the open area between the K-8 campus and the proposed athletics fields being used for?
There is no open area between the fields. The space between the schools will be used for driveline. (See site plan below)
Is it possible to purchase the parcel of land adjacent to the K-8 on Graham Road for an athletic track?
The land is able to be purchased, however, it is not within the budget to do so.
Could ILTexas build an outdoor track the size of an indoor track?
A regulation track will not fit on the property. Current Floor Plans for Aggieland High School shows a rubberized straight with 2-lanes of 120m.
Since we cannot build a regulation track, where are we contracted so our students can practice?
We recently added a page to the Athletics website to give everyone visibility on where students practice and play, as well as transportation information for every sport and campus across the charter. Click here to take a look.
Will there be lockers in the new Aggieland High School?
No. There are no ILTexas K-8 or High School that has lockers, with the exception of the lockers in the gym, used for changing.
Are there plans to renovate the existing chemistry lab in the temporary building?
Currently, we do not have a goggle cleaner and the Vent Hood was not installed. The layout of the lab was done the way it was due to the foundation of the building. The issue brought up was that students can't be seen when conducting labs. By mid-September, we will receive some more tables and additional equipment to help with the instruction.
Are there plans to add portables to help with spacing and enrollment growth?
For the 24-25 school year: 1 portable will be installed on the parking lot within the fence that will house two classrooms. The property nearby will also house a classroom that can be used as wel. We're still developing plans to help with the 24-25 school year.
Portables would have bathrooms and AHS will have an adult outside to monitor students to ensure they are able to cross the street safely.
Are there plans to provide additional space for the Fitness Department to use for physical fitness during the school day?
Yes, it will be outdoors under a vestibule in the parking lot. We’ve fixed some of the leaks in the roof, upgraded the fencing and fixed the sallyport gate. The equipment should come in before the start of school.
